I fell in love with the way you have made your home in my heart. First you moved in the couch, and I could recall clearly the first time we really spoke, seated at opposite ends of your uncomfortable couch, in your foreign apartment, and I could not stop noticing the way you seemed to be silently melting into yourself, and away from everyone. The couch was accompanied by the large rug that covered the majority of your living room. Printed with little people I did not know; I found myself envying the amount of ease they possessed in your presence. Over time you began spending more time in my heart, and moving in smaller things to give my heart pieces of you and your character; Your favorite shirt, your drawing books and paint brushes, little knick knacks you had picked up for me along the way. I began falling in love with the way you decorated my heart. After some time, you included a bed in my heart, and I enjoyed falling asleep to your steady breathing every morning. There our heartbeats synchronized into one melodious song that you would sing to me at night. When you added the shower to your home in my heart, I was fascinated by how the warmth of it made me beckon you. I wanted you to feel the way the water drops raced down my steaming skin. More than anything, I loved the way my heart became filled with the sound of your laughter and the trace of your smile in every corner that before had remained so solemn. I loved the way the drapes were formed from the silk in your voice; the sheets were woven as tightly as your fingers around mine; and the kitchen cabinets began filling themselves with all of our small secrets and whispered affections. The door to my heart had been opened, and I had fallen in love with the one who held the key.
