I felt compelled to write a new piece of poetry based on the events of St. Luis as of late its time to rebuild abs repair not tear down. I dont know Mike Brown s Story nor Officer Wilsons yet both lives were sacrificed in a once in a million encounter, now we have every black leader or politician on the corner protesting or mounting some years old rhetoric about police brutality absolutely abstaining from commenting about the lack of morality that led us to this scene we were taught how to be kings and queens by any means thank you Malcom and Martin for walking on our behalf as we allow others to have the last laugh. How far have we fallen since Harriet dug, Rosa sat,Morrison wrote, seems like were in the same old boat from Trayvon to Mike our psych is being damaged as suggestions of progress and hope are reimagined my ancestors did not fight only to killed nor did emmit till whistle just to set us back another 200 years one mothers tears become a symbol of others fears yearning for her child back the media lamenting and attacking character flaws that hit raw emotion. Ferguson has become the new Gotham yet they dont need a batman all they really are asking is for us join hands, I had dream relevant once again as we seek to begin anew and rebuild all because two birds were killed with one stone as Ferguson you do not walk alone.
