I felt physically ill when I read this and saw the photos of this little boy. Here is my question for Adrian: What did your child do that was so awful that you needed to beat him with a switch. You are a physically HUGE athlete, he is a tiny child. You really think you needed to get a switch, that your hand wasnt enough or even an angry voice? Also, why so excessive? I can only imagine how this poor kid was crying on the first hit of the switch. You may be sorry, but you are the worst type of BULLY! He states, No one can understand the hurt that I feel for my son and for the harm I caused him. My goal is always to teach my son right from wrong and thats what I tried to do that day. What were you teaching him? That it is ok to hit people? I thought we are suppose to teach our kids to use their words, kindness and compassion. According to the article, corporal punishment is legal in Texas and non-deadly force against a child by a parent or guardian is permissible. But the punishment is abusive if it causes injury. A blow that leaves a bruise, welt or swelling, or requires medical attention, could be judged abusive. The guidelines also say use of an instrument is cause for concern. Do you think it is ok to hit your kids when disciplining them? barb
