I finally got the lumbar puncture with chemo injection late this afternoon. It had to be delayed several hours because my platelet count was so low. They had to transfuse another 2 units of the platelets before my counts were high enough that they felt my bleeding risk was decreased enough to proceed. The GREAT news is that I felt much less anxious about the procedure this time, and with the exception of the initial stick and burn of the numbing medication, the procedure was painless and went off without a hitch. The doctor performing the procedure was able to get the needle into the exact location he needed it right away without much maneuvering around. I believe this is just one more answered prayer! While Im at it, I wanted to mention that I have received many cards and notes of encouragement in the last few days, and thank you each for them. Some of them have been sent from some of you I have never even met. I appreciate every one of those cards and notes, but there is something extraordinarily special and kind about someone who doesnt know me taking the time to do that. I am learning how amazing people are! Thank you all once again for your thoughts and prayers and constant encouragement. God surely will bless your kindness!
