I find it a little disheartening to hear Bahamians call in to talk - TopicsExpress

I find it a little disheartening to hear Bahamians call in to talk shows and have to beg a Minister of the Government making a guest appearance on the show on the day for this, that and the other. I just heard a woman basically begging and pleading on the verge of tears for Min. Gibson to go and look into a long-standing of her daughter not being regularized into the service, but has her degrees and qualifications- claims she is tired of getting loans on her behalf. And now because she is a retired worker probably cant get a loan anymore. A guy from Golden Isles, who calls Min Halkitis everything but a child of God on his happy days on any and every talk show he can get on, when Min Halkitis came on air to talk about the work he was doing, basically started to cry and hoon for Halkitis to allow him to help in his own constituency. What a turn around?!?! What in the world? I thought it was just me that had to get in the face of these people from time to time for justice and fairness. Why do Bahamians have to beg like dogs to get run-of-the-mill things done and looked into, especially when our Ministers have generals, administrative staff, technical staff and with this island not being that big? See why we need systematic controls, or a strengthening thereof? Some of these issues should not even need a Minister to look into... what in the world?!!? Its disheartening to hear that- you are not a dog begging for scraps. You are a Bahamian! A government needs to deliver on that. We should have more rights to dignity than that.
