I find it both fascinating and saddening that readers will read something I write and, due to their own preconceived notions about whatever the topic is I am writing about, decide what it is I am saying without truly READING what I wrote. If there is one thing I would love people to do when they read Run Luau Run or any other blog, its this - take off the blinders when you read someone elses work. And if you leave a challenging comment and the writer says, I think you misread what I wrote, then understand that you probably misread what he or she wrote and you need to go back and re-read whatever it is that apparently got you fired up. Part of the breakdown in todays government and society is that people talk, but rarely listen. They may hear the bullet points, but almost never bother to listen to the details. Dont be that person...please. I dont care whether you agree with me on certain topics or not. Heck, I encourage people to question what I say - its part of my education process; part of my evolution because I know that I could be wrong. To those who would refuse to be part of the conversation, who decide to leave this page because I took a stance on vaccines or some other controversial topic, I ask, is it that you are so convinced that your cannot be wrong? or is that your stance is so weak, you are afraid of any challenges? Either one, ultimately is wrong.
