I find it incredibly sad that someone would post this comment on the Guernsey Press site: What the rulers are really trying to do is keep the locals in their place. They dont want the locals getting good educations and then taking the good high paid jobs when these jobs should be reserved for foreigners who want to move here under license and then after short while call themselves locals. We as locals should remember our place and do the menial tasks that need doing here while we allow the foreigners to rule over us. This is a sentiment often expressed in one form or another. Im sad because it shows the lack of trust in our Government. I really dont think there is a positive policy to prefer foreigners but I do question the idea that a local isnt good enough. Im not blind to the fact that we also rely on other foreign workers to do the jobs which locals feel are below them, so the contributors comments are of course wide of the mark.
