I find it interesting how so many riders wiggle and squirm and do - TopicsExpress

I find it interesting how so many riders wiggle and squirm and do just about anything to avoid facing the one inescapable fact about learning how to ride--- What is that fact? OK, there`s this horse. Then there`s this person. The person sits on top of the horse, one leg on the right, one leg on the left---With me so far? As long as the horse DOES NOT MOVE, no problems--- However---Most horses DO move. Now what? When the horse moves, his moving body creates waves of energy that the rider is either flexible enough to mirror and absorb, or, if the rider can`t move with the horse, the rider will bounce and lurch around in DISHARMONY from the motions of the horse. NO amount of working in a round pen/getting more gear/getting a better saddle/hiring a different coach/shopping for clothing/making 23,765 excuses, none of that matters one tiny iota because the rider is AVOIDING THE FACT that good riders are PART OF THE MOTION, and he/she is not. So here`s the fact--- THE MOVING BODY OF THE VERTICAL RIDER MUST MATCH THE MOVING BODY OF THE HORIZONTAL HORSE, AS IF BOTH ENTITIES HAD ONE SPINE. NO DAMN BOUNCING! Want to learn to RIDE? Become part of the motion. 62 years apart, these 2 photos---You have to PRACTICE. Then practice some more. And don`t damn WHINE about how it`s hard. We have ZERO sympathy---- (That`s the royal we) hahahahaha
