I find myself actually hurt at our blind allegiance to these white holidays. Black friday, christmas. Its a hopeless situation. We cant even give one of these holidays up. You will see black folks all bundled up sleeping outside stores waiting for something that they can get for that price anyway. Im speechless. Why cant we show any solidarity behind that verdict of the grand jury or the now new murder of a 12 year old black child? Why are we still so anxious to celebrate? What are we celebrating?
