I find writing to be a big part of ones expression and it also helps in times of grief. I have regularly kept journals of my writings and here is one that I wrote last night. ----------------------- The Grandfather I Never Knew © Margaret Pettit Kennedy My heart aches for what I missed out on; the Grandfather I never knew. The stories you could have told; youre hand Ill never get to hold. Oh, how I wish you couldve grown old. Ive seen your image in the clouds; I have no doubt. The memory of you will never cease; rest in peace. Written in loving memory of the Grandfather I never knew, Sgt. Lewis John Pettit 10/30/16 - 7/19/64 Top picture is of my great uncle Frank and my grandfather Lewis, my great grandmother (their mom) and my grandfather Lewis and last picture is of my grandpa Brown.
