I finished reading The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker (along with a bunch of other books I started 6 months ago) and I learned this: If you fear something, that is evidence that it is not happening (ie. When I get close to the edge of a cliff, I am afraid of falling. But Im not falling, otherwise I would be afraid of hitting the ground. Im not afraid of hitting the ground, so I must not be falling. So why am I afraid? Which, by the way, I was afraid of falling when I hiked Angels Landing, almost to the point of crying, but I realized I wasnt falling so I was probably going to be fine.) Doubt, fear, and worry kill more people than falling off of Angels Landing.* So if you ever feel fear like me, you can try this: 1) when you feel fear, listen. 2) when you dont feel fear, dont manufacture it. 3) if you find yourself creating worry, explore and discover why. *Statistically proven
