I finished reading the book, No Country For Old Men, even though I saw the movie on DVD. Sometimes when you read the book you get more dialogue than in the movie. In this case, the book gave greater depth of expression to the character of The Sheriff, played in the movie by Tommy Lee Jones. I didnt think the movie made clear the exact nature of the guy who was trying to recover the money that was found by the fella out hunting. The author wanted us to believe this killer had a method to his style, his killer style. Its like a guy who kills spiders he finds in his home even though if they are found outside, he may not. Serial killers often have a particular way of doing things, like a ritual belief system. Just as people with compulsive-obsessive disorder, a serial killer is trying to bring order into a world filled with chaos.
