I first moved to the Heaton ward in 1987 where I resided in Frizinghall. Four years later I moved to Heaton village where I live with my wife, married for nineteen years, and our three children. My wife is of Pakistani Heritage, I am proud to be part of her family. This puts me in a good position to help people from a number of communities within the Heaton ward. I am one of the Parent Governors of the Samuel Lister Academy I also sit on the board of BCET (Bradford College Education Trust). We run a number of academy’s and studio schools in the Bradford area. I am the named Governor for Teaching and Learning, I also sit on the Curriculum and standards committee Being self employed I can dedicate time to the role of ward councillor. I aim is to help and promote all things good in the Heaton ward. Heaton can be split into three distinct areas all with their own problems, if successful I plan to fight for, promote and help all three areas equally. During the last round of boundary changes a number of streets in Heaton would have been reallocated to Manningham, My wife and myself raised a petition which we presented to number 10 Downing Street, needless to say we won and the Heaton boundary stayed as it was.
