I first watched Liverpool in 1989 when they played Everton in that seasons Cup final at Wembley (remember Road to Wembley?). Liverpool won that final 3-2 in a pulsating Merseyside derby. I grew to love the Club and for the next 25 years supported no other club in England other than the Mighty Reds. Some 10 or so seasons later Liverpool introduced to the footballing World a sprightly talented youngster and for the next 17 plus years the whole world came to know of this marvelous player, a one team legend, his name was Steven Gerrard. Gerrard cemented my passion for Liverpool football Club and for the game of soccer. Like all Liverpool fans (and practically anyone who loves the great game of soccer) his announcement of the imminent departure at the end of the season from Liverpool Football Club was received with sadness. Gerrard has been a faithful servant to LFC and he will be missed. Captain Fantastic you are a Legend!
