I fixed my washer! I am so excited! A gear in the gear case - TopicsExpress

I fixed my washer! I am so excited! A gear in the gear case (transmission) was stripped. I replaced it but for some reason after I put it back together it didnt work right. Since it was already old and several parts in it were worn out, and because I was tired of working on it, and because I couldnt stand the inconvenience of not having a washing machine for who knows how much longer - I just bought a new gear case. Besides, its not common to try and repair the gear case. I had already gone deeper than most DIYers (do it yourself). I did not want to fix this thing myself but I fixed a more simple broken component in it before, and the store I bought it from originally was very difficult to work with so I knew I couldnt get them to help. But, the most important reason for me to set an intention to fix it was so I could push myself outside my comfort zone. I am technical and have worked on mechanical things before, but I do it infrequently and I have never worked on something like this so extensively. Even if I completely failed to fix it I would have succeeded in learning how to work through resistance, to work through the pull and desire to do things I know will reward me instead. In short I learned how to be more comfortable with the uncomfortable, and Im learning, through my meditations, that that is what the most rewarding experiences of life depend on. Now, if success at fixing a washing machine can be this exciting, I wonder how exciting succees at the next, bigger thing, I set out to do, can be? :-D
