I, for one proud, unapologetic liberal, sincerely hope that Sen. Ted Cruz continues to espouse the views which have gotten him where he is in the national dialogue. If he sincerely believes what he says, and is willing to stick to his guns (unlike Paul Ryan, who repudiated Ayn Rand when Romney picked him for Veep) it will be part of a substantive discussion of whether or not there will continue to be a Republican Party. They cry about government spending run amok, but play political ball with affluent individuals and corporations, generationally on the public dole. John Boehner cries (literally!) about the need for a second F35 fighter engine-- because they built it in his district-- and regular conservative folks are wondering if the GOP is anything more than the elitist club with a different set of rules for its members that Democrats have accused them of for generations. Cruz and his minions are looking more and more like a one-hit-wonder-- today, that is-- but I worry about what their next hit will cost the rest of us. Theyre officially at $24 Billion and counting. #TeddyandtheCruzzers
