I fought fires on the Kabab NF next to the Park. It is over grown, and suffering from poor management at least it was in 1976, I would predict it is worse now. Preservation and Conservation are not the same thing. I also earn my degrees in range management. The simple biological concept taught to by men like Aldo Leopold seem to have been lost in the management by law suit environmental policy we currently have. If they would let people who have studied forest management do their jobs, people who studied range management do their job instead of letting special self interest groups manage through lawyers we would have a much healthier, diverse, biosphere. Plant succession is natural and we should use it to make good use of our resources in a sustainable manner.
