I found this on a post and think it was very well written: Judy, I really think you live in a bubble if you believe that cops are never really in a position where they have to use deadly force. These kids out being thugs have no respect for ANYONE, let alone respect for the law. Ive got law enforcement officers in my family and among my friends, and their lives are constantly on the line. Cops have been killed executing routine traffic stops, so your argument about they shouldnt have to kill anyone is completely invalid and without merit. Pull your head out, lady!! Its not a matter of race, and anyone is a complete fool if they believe that. Lawbreakers and thugs come in every color. The difference? When its a white guy getting killed by a cop, white people arent out rioting and looting, which, by the way, is illegal and never justified. If people want to effect change, we need to start with ourselves and in our own homes. We need to be law abiding, and teach our children to do the same. We need to publicly and privately shun the neighborhood thugs, and point them out to our kids as an example of what not to be. We need to stop fostering a sense of entitlement and materialism so that kids will stop chasing an easy dollar, thus removing the thug mentality. We live in a society that glorifies the street thug, and I think some of this now is the product of cops having had enough if it. They are tired of feeling in constant danger. They have every right to use force, including deadly force, to protect themselves, because in protecting themselves, they protect us. The argument that its all about race is complete and total GARBAGE, and Im really sick of the media giving credence to this crap.
