I gave a shout-out earlier this week for all of my current and former clients who show up to the gym almost every day. They show up to meet me, on their own for some cardio or weight training, and sometimes to just work on some mobility. I also want to give a shout-out to all of the members that I see in the gym nearly every day. They are also busting their butts day in and day out to reach their goals and I want to make sure they get some recognition as well. Yeah, I see you! Finally, I want to give a shout-out to the rest of the members I see that dont actually come inside the gym, but walk up to the door and scan their card and walk away. These members dont do this nearly every day, rather 3 or 4 times a week to make sure they make their monthly quota for their insurance companies. Yeah, I see you too. So what do I mean by quota? These people have found a way to scam the system. They receive $20/month in their bank account from their insurance company if they can make it to gym 12 or more times/month. The insurance companies invest in their clients who invest in their health. Not only do these clients (our members) get $20/month put back in their bank account if they can meet this quota, but they also get a discount on memberships. The insurance company only has access to the door access records. Therefore their clients just simply walk up to the door, sometimes with multiple cards, scan them all and then walk away without ever stepping foot in the gym. I have literally seen someone leave their car parked in the middle of the street, run up to the door with one or more access cards, scan them, run back to their car, and then drive off. No joke. So instead of truly investing in their health, they would rather make a measly $20 extra a month. Let me know how that goes for you as you continue to battle your weight loss goals or other, more serious matters like diabetes or heart disease. Some of these members should be the ones I see in their working hard nearly every day. Its truly discomforting and sad. I get a pit in my stomach every time I see it and it is almost every single day Im at the gym. I cant leave the members out who actually meet their quota by busting their ass. Massive, massive props to them for sticking to their guns and making it in as well as being rewarded for the solid efforts. I do respect every members work ethic. Every one. From my clients to a member who scans their card just to run back to their vehicle more often than the times they scan their card to actually come to the gym. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and see the good in them. I want everyone to enjoy their time at the gym-thats part of what I try to instill in my sessions with clients. I want them to enjoy coming to see me, not dread it. If I dont do that then I have failed. With that being said, I hope one of those members who doesnt actually meet their quota each month reads this post, because if you do, I want to offer you a training special. Only catch: you have to come find me on trainers night, which is Monday, November 17th at Snap Fitness La Crescent, MN from 5-7 and Tuesday, November 18th at Snap Fitness La Crosse Village from 5-7. Come find me and get hooked up. You need to start investing in YOUR HEALTH rather than your bank account. As for all my other clients and other members, come find me as well. Ive got some goodies for you too!! GO PACK GO!!
