I generally avoid barraging you people with links to causes. However, I know that Im incredibly lucky to have such a large and loyal audience, both here and at Stonekettle Station. And Ive recently been the recipient of generous crowd funding via the new donation button at Stonekettle Station - which will allow me to take the next two months and make a stab at transitioning to full time professional writer and artist - which I appreciate more than I can tell you. Ive been chasing this dream for most of my life and I now have an opportunity to catch it, all thanks to you. I cant tell you how much that means to me. In the past Ive tried to pay my fortunate position forward by posting links to artists, crafts people, musicians, and other writers. And I will continue to do so. If youre one of those people, send me a link to what you do and Ill do what I can to promote your work. I also feel a very strong obligation to support my fellow veterans as best I can. Im unable to reply to every letter and message I receive, but I make it a point to reply to every veteran - no matter the gist of the message - if for no other reason than out of respect for my brothers and sisters in arms. Upon occasion, Im offered an opportunity to do more, such as when I published a Marines letter on Stonekettle Station, one disagreeing with my own position. I felt I owed it to him and those like him to bring their viewpoint to your attention. Today, I am in a position to help another veteran, someone Ive never met but who is a friend here on Facebook and who is in need.
