I generally do not endorse Parliamentary walk-outs. But I am all - TopicsExpress

I generally do not endorse Parliamentary walk-outs. But I am all for this particular one, albeit I am unsure how that would stop the imminent increment. I however, still pray that somehow the 2.5 imminent increment dies aborning. To wit, there is no sensible justification for this imminent VAT increment. And I particularly get scandalized when I hear some of these pro-government guys go on with their puny arguments and propaganda. This is not about NPP-NDC matter. Lets not cheapen and trivialize the severity of the current times. I submit that this is not why this government was given our mandate- to pile hardships on the citizenry. Indded, the solution to our current economic problems does not lie in the increment of taxes such as VAT. On the contrary, the solution lies in a more FISCAL and MONETARY regime, cutting down on the increasing palpable waste in the public system, ending the payments of dubious judgment debts, and doing away with the award of unwanton of absurd contract sums to companies like ASONTABA, GYEEDA and SUBA. This is the direction to take. Ghanaians are literally dying already and we cannot bear further tax increment. We vote governments into power to help improve our lives. Increasing taxes is so monotonous, cheap and insensitive. We need this government to be eclectic and think outside the box. This is our expectations and it is non-negotiable. It is sad bcos it is clear we are in for a long haul with no amelioration in sight. We need some miracle and turnaround fast!; or else we are on the precipice of economic dystopia
