I generally dont air my business on Facebook or elsewhere, but I - TopicsExpress

I generally dont air my business on Facebook or elsewhere, but I feel like Chattanooga needs to know this. My mother was recently pulled over for what was described to her by officer Jake Thomas that it was a random stop, he was just checking people. She was given a citation for suspended license to turn herself in and be booked. She did and was booked and released on an O.R. bond on December 15 and given today for her court date. She went, and was told when she went in front of the judge that there was a warrant for failure to appear on December 1st. What I dont understand is, Where was the warrant when she turned herself in on DECEMBER 15th??? And Macayla was with her, so that left her 15 years old and stranded at the courthouse downtown. After being told how irresponsible I was for letting my 15 yr old come to court with my mother by a lovely court clerk they located her to call me. Jj saved the day by saving Macayla since I was at work. A couple of hours later my mom calls and says she was not booked that they told her to come back to court Friday. When I pick her up she then informs me that when asked to use the phone to call me so I could pick her up, to use the pay phone down the hall. She explained what happened in court, and told the clerks that Macayla had taken her purse with her when Jj picked her up because they were supposedly arresting her so she didnt have any money. She was then informed that that could arrest her right then for vagrancy. That you must have enough money on you at all times to buy one meal. Like seriously? Are you kidding me? This whole damn story pisses me off that this is what our tax dollars help fund. My mom is far from a hardened criminal. Pursue someone hurting someone else please. Our jails have more drug a users and non violent offender than they do violent criminals. This all seems extremely ridiculous to me quite damn frankly!
