I get asked this a lot: How come Ive survived 10 years in this industry. Agents approach me, even supervisors and sometimes managers, asking why I still have the fire and the enthusiasm after all these years. My answer is simple. Just remember your first day. Remember that feeling when you were new in the industry and you were eager to take in calls? That very first night you got assigned to your first ever workstation? The smell of your new headset, just out of the box? And then that first call you resolved? That first happy customer who asked for your supervisor because he wanted to commend you yet you said its just part of your job? That is what I always think about everytime I come in to work. A lot would always say that they want to get promoted so that they can stop taking calls. But they forgot what our industry is about. I love taking calls even now. The sound of a persons voice when you resolve their issue is priceless. So value what you do, be good at it and everything else will follow. Remember as well, Rome was not built in a day. 😜
