After 40 years in the Game I think I have heard it all but I am always open to Learn . 15 Years ago I changed over to Bison over Beef when I could ! So much Leaner and Less Fat and Higher Protein and Lower Cholesterol ! The Art Of Building Muscle and Losing Fat is Tough but Not out of Reach ! So Many Scams come and Go and for the Normal Person they are Blinded . Dr Atkins came out with his Diet , that was never intended for Bodybuilding but People Flocked to it ! The Thought that they could Eat Bacon and other Fats and just reduce Carbs to under 50 and Lose Weight was a Gift to them ! Ketosis works and Keeping the Carbs Low does Burn Fat but without the Addition of High Quality Protein , you will not Build Muscle !! Dr Atkins was a Cardiologist !! He needed people to lose Weight to Perform Surgery !!! He didnt care about them Building Muscle ! Then the Gurus starting Preaching How many Carbs an Protein People Need every day ! Sadly they have No Clue ! The Human Body is Missing a Gas Gauge , and Without it we really have No Idea how many Calories we burn a Day ! Protein is Based On Nitrogen Balance , the More Muscle you have the More You Need . It Should be Based on Lean Body Weight ! Not Total Body Weight ! Fat does Not Need to be Fed Protein ! Also All Proteins are Not Equal and The Highest Biological Value Proteins should Be Eaten ! There is No Usable Protein in Many Foods that have Protein Listed !!!!! Now the Gurus are Preaching MACROS ! This is an Old Term to measure Energy ! Yes To Lose weight you Need to Burn more than You Take In , But How do you Measure what You Burn Without that Gas Gauge ! And sorry a Calorie is Not A Calorie ! If You Burn 3000 calories a Day and Take in enough Protein to feed the Muscle and Keep your Calories Below 3000 , yes Your Body will still Lose Weight if You Ingest an Oreo !!!! But There is Nothing Good for You from that Oreo ! So Stop Telling Yourself it is Good for You and when you are 60 and have Heart Disease or Diabetes from all the High Fructose Corn Syrup Blame Yourself ! there is No Reason to ever Starve Yourself and if You Understand Muscle is a Living Tissue that Needs to eat and You need to Eat More you will Eat ! Hours of Cardio just Destroys Muscle Tissue. Do Cardio for Your Heart and Lift to Build Muscle ! Eat Lean BV Protein to Feed the Protein and Carbs ( low Glycemic ) to give you Energy and Eat Good Fats for Sustain Energy and Lubrication of the Joints . Remember if You Need Fuel Eat ! If You are sitting on the Beach , keep the Protein up to Feed the Muscle but You dont need as Many Carbs as you do on those Training Days ! This Is Not Rocket Science ! If Your Waist is Getting Bigger lower the Carbs and Reduce the Junk ! Nobody Needs Pepperoni on their Pizza ! But If You want It Eat it !!!!
