I get this question a lot why dont you ship with USPS? My answer - TopicsExpress

I get this question a lot why dont you ship with USPS? My answer is usually I dont trust them to get my product to your doorstep reliably. I use UPS for a reason, that reason is if in some way, they manage to lose a package, I know that I will be compensated and in turn I will be able to pass that on to my customers. Heres a perfect example of why I do not trust USPS. I ordered a belt from Original SOE Gear, I got my ship confirmation way earlier than expected so I was rather excited. I saw that they had used expedited shipping which made me even more happy. I was set to receive my order today via USPS but I checked tracking this morning and it was headed the wrong damn way. It was in Pennsylvania. I live in Florida as most of you well know, SOE is based in Tennessee. Why the hell is my order 400 miles north of where it started? I was curious so I called USPS today and I was apologized to regarding the shipping delay and told It was put on the wrong truck. Now, I understand that mistakes do happen and a highly advanced computer tracking system can be bypassed by human error, but when I asked if SOE would be compensated the shipping for the delay, I was told We do not guarantee any shipping time, its simply a general idea of when it might arrive. Its no wonder USPS continues to post a loss every year. Ive been shipping holsters weekly for over 2 years now and I have had a few lost by both USPS and UPS. The difference is I get prompt service and a FULL REFUND with UPS with in a week (at the most). USPS will not even give me a dime back for 3 months after the incident. Long story short, I refuse to guarantee delivery with USPS because I honestly may not ever see my money returned. If you really want to save the $3 between USPS and UPS. its your risk. Im sorry but this is the way I have to be.
