I got a more detailed official update on the work on the grounds of the former prison farm, off Front Road. Here it is: Public Works and Government Services Canada is undertaking a construction project on behalf of Correctional Service Canada to relocate an existing landfill site to another area on the property in order to preserve the adjacent wetlands. This project required the removal of approximately 26 trees in the construction area and access routes. The trees will be replaced at a two-to-one ratio with species native to the region.
