I got a touching birthday surprise by my nursing staff today, from the hemodialysis unit of South General Hospital. I was still doing my daily routine seeing my patients, and checking up my dialysis patients, like I would usually do daily. All the staff was initially silent, seemingly oblivious to my presence as they were also doing their daily routine. I didnt actually know beforehand that they did prepare something for me. When I entered my clinic, there it was, with all the birthday caķe and candles, the balloons, and the pizza, and big happy birthday greeting on the wall, all already prepared. And in unison, they all sang Happy Birthday in one joyous, moment, with all their happy faces greeting me. I was stunned, surprised ; my heart firmly gripped and melted. For a many seconds, I was visibly motionless, staring everything laden before my very eyes. My lips were nailed. Indeed, it was a very nice birthday present for me. Thank you very much. Im really touched.
