I got asked a very heartfelt question last night by two lovely women from other countries. They asked, When someone asks us, Why should you get the job instead of an American?, what can we even say?? This is my answer: When many people see me, all they see is non-English speaker, immigrant, international student. I am those things, but I am also a hard worker, intelligent and I will persevere to the end. I would be a great asset to this company because while most Americans have lived this one life, I have lived two. I have lived in two countries, two economies, and I speak two languages. I can offer twice the knowledge, twice the experience and twice the empathy.I may be shy and English may not always come easy for me, but I know people and I know life. Good work ethic is an international language, and I can assure I am fluent in it. If they do not give you the job after that, then they dont deserve you!
