I got called out to do the ALS ice bucket challenge by my brother - TopicsExpress

I got called out to do the ALS ice bucket challenge by my brother Jeff Kohlhepp last night. Im calling out Daniel Alexander Austin Norman and Jessie Lillian. You have 24 hours to complete the challenge AND DONATE $10, or if you fail to do the challenge donate $100. At the start I thought the challenge was stupid and people would only do it to get out of donating, but the foundation has raised 10 times the amount of money (mostly from these challenges) in the same time period as last year so the awareness is most definitely being spread! Hate me if you want but ask yourself this question: What is a bucket of cold water on the head to spread a little knowledge for people who are in need? I have a completely different view of this now and think its a great way to spread awareness through social media. Also, I will be donating $20 to ALS Wednesday when my paycheck hits. Hope you guys see it from my point of view and keep the knowledge spreading. Heres a brief description of the disease taken from the ALS website for informative purposes: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. HAVE FUN!
