I got excited about this for a second because I love feuds and Affleck vs. Maher is like theoretically an amazing feud. But apparently Ive avoided Maher so long I had forgotten how MUCH I despise him. In todays news, Bill Maher is willfully ignorant toward Islam because he hates religion, which is intellectually negligent and disgusting. Im not religious, either, but I understand the ramifications of pretending that the worlds second-largest religious tradition = sympathy to extremist causes. I guess Im lucky that Ive actually had the chance to know and converse with Muslim people from a variety of nations and cultural backgrounds. For the sake of those who havent, it would be nice if people like Bill Maher would stop pouring the same old ignorant slop into every public conversation about Islam.
