I got into musical comedy honestly. I wanted to be a rock star so I could get laid, but people thought all the songs I wrote were funny. Eventually I realized that even a rock star with funny songs can get laid. Although Ive been out of the game for years, I still stand by my catalog as being for the most part rather clever, and it is rare that I feel truly humbled by another master in the field. Tim Minchin is one of those masters. Musically, I plead no contest. I was an average guitar player and a worse singer, and Tim Minchin is a musical genius. Lyrically, I at least had some substance, but when I see genius like this, It gives me wood:
