I got the tiniest bacteria for my technique exam today in microbiology. So small, that I could not tell the morphology or arrangement of the bacteria and had to make a guess. I did everything I could: I did the stain twice and asked for a higher magnification scope (answer was no). But I still had to guess based on tiny specks.... really? Why are we not tested on how we would have reacted in a real life situation? because that is whats important right? If I had a patient depending on that result they may have gotten the wrong diagnosis because I was under a time constraint with terrible equipment... Im not one to make excuses but it seems a bit unfair to me.
