I got this response today from my Sheriff as to the release of permit holders information.... Mr. Brice, I have sent your email for review to our Prosecuting Attorney. If she determines that it is a violation of the rights of those holding permits to release such information then I will not do so. If she says it is public information and allowable then I will look long and hard into the options but if that is so then I have little to stand on if I am in violation of state and or federal law . I am a firm believer in our 2nd amendment, a combat veteran, NRA member and a patriot. I will stand by for and fight for my citizens rights as passed by the majority of said citizens through proper channels. I understand your point of view and I will make mention of your concerns to the WV Sheriffs Association where I hold an office. If you are not happy with current laws make your voice heard in the state legislature. This is the only way to make a difference. If you come from Maryland then you are surely by now all too familiar with outrageous gun control laws. I will keep you abreast of the Prosecutors findings ASAP.
