I grew up in a household that was strictly meat and potatoes. Sunday dinner was a beef roast with browned potatoes that was placed in the oven when we left for church. We came home at a dinner of grey meat, browned potatoes and gravy. The best part was roast beef sandwiches in our lunch boxes on Monday. When I married Bill in 1973 I had never tasted tacos or his favorite steamed artichokes or lots of other tasty treats. Tonight, 41 years later, he grilled salmon fillets with a glaze of maple syrup and soy sauce. While I prefer shell fish, I created a grilled salmon salad with arugula, iceberg lettuce, avocado, dried cranberries and champagne dressing that was delicious. Amazing growth for an East Coast gal, Id say. Luckily I married a great chef. PS Bill chose a perfect French burgundy wine to accompany the salmon. What a terrific meal!
