I grew up in an America where the minimum wage was by no means extravagant (never had to work for it, actually) but it was a living wage in most places in the country. You could own a modest used car and rent a modest apartment and afford gas and food on minimum wage. We need to restore the idea that people are supposed to be making a living at ANY job, and not just provide insane excess production to inflate executive salaries and stock prices.
