I grew up living with a new exchange student in my house every - TopicsExpress

I grew up living with a new exchange student in my house every year for over 23 years. Every year my parents hosted a student from Japan, Italy, South Africa, Mexico, Denmark, France, England, Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Holland, etc. I feel blessed and privileged from this. My sister went to Austria and I stayed a year in Italy. Parents who commit to this are smart. I can confidently say I am NOT racist at all. I was raised right. To see racism in this world hurts me. Let me tell-you all, for 23 years my family sat at dinner with a foreign exchange student in our kitchen, let them sleep in the guest bedroom down the hall, drove them to school every day, helped them learn English and comforted them when they cried from being homesick. My father helped found the Rotary Youth Exchange Program back in the day and it has been awsome. Thank you Mom and Dad for the education. Priceless. Absolutely priceless. (I still have a place in my heart for you, you hot little blonde Danish girl. You know who you are!) ;)
