I grew up with family and some of my best friends who were lgbt - TopicsExpress

I grew up with family and some of my best friends who were lgbt and I really didnt think (and I still dont) that they were different. I love them all the same. Growing up in the 60s and 70s on Kauai I did not see any of them get treated any differently although it may have occurred without me knowing about it because I was going through a bullying stage myself and would have stepped up to defend any of my friends or family who were bullied regardless of the reasons. I still cannot believe that in this day and age people would have to discriminate against people for the stupidest reasons and as in this video, a family rejects their son for being gay in the name of religion? One of Jesus apostles was responsible for the deaths of Christians and still became one of his beloved and notable followers, the apostle Paul. Im not a religious person but since the parents of this poor young man apparently is Im going to say this. 1 Peter 2:21 encourages Jesus disciples to follow his footsteps. In Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus says that to love God is the first commandment but the second is like it. That you should love your neighbor as yourself. It did not give them any conditions or options. It speaks of unconditional love. To the parents of this young man 1 Timothy 5:8 says But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. And finally, to this young man... I hope he finds this scripture and that it brings him comfort, in Psalm 27:10 it reads For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. Can I get a AMEN????
