I guess I am somewhat surprised at how many people really are put off by people in wheelchairs. Taking my mom to lunch, and to the market, people gasp, sneer, roll their eyes,mutter under their breath, etc., at having to wait maybe two seconds for a wheel chair to pass, or to have to take one steep to the side to pass. And I do make an honest effort not to block passages, or otherwise do anything that really inconveniences others. Today, one woman made quite a display at at how annoyed she was at having to step an extra foot out of her way to get past us at the market, by hissing, rolling her eyes, glowering, etc. I finally had to say, I am so sorry to have inconvenienced you so much, to which she gave me a serious F U look. Ah, America, Such a lovely country.
