I guess I havent spoken much about what I do. Many activists are a quiet bunch. I do animal welfare work. I distribute flyers. I try to put them into letterboxes that are sealed shut (and found out you actually still can slot stuff in if you try). I educate residents about our street cats and their role. I still have a stack of the old CWS flyers on my shelf that I overprinted. I teach kids to not hit the cats but to love them. I had doors slammed in my face, lighted cigarettes thrown at me, A lot of us faced heartaches in our work that we have been silent about. We have faced immense losses and some have been driven to their ends. But we work at it nevertheless. Sometimes the authorities pass some stupid blanket law that hurts our efforts greatly, but sometimes the individual town councils quietly work to circumvent ever having to apply said detrimental laws. We took a while to do this but we have come quite far. People who have done real activism are people like Dr Siew of SOSD, Mohan from animal lovers, the cat welfare people, love kuching etc. I cant name them all... It had been relatively hard work in the background but look at what we have achieved. Just look at how far we have come.
