I guess its over. This morning the Little Circle yoga session at Saigon South International School raised 7,800,000 VND, enough for more than 7 bicycles. I thought 68 bicycles was a lot to ask for, but the number in the end will be closer to 80. The 80 children who will go to school, because now they can, will multiply the effect in their villages by becoming mentors and teachers themselves. Ive always thought that if Cambodia could have two generations of world-grade education, they could solve many of their development problems themselves. Except for the delivery of these bicycles to the children in Kravanh after Christmas, Little Circle Cambodia is done. A sewing school, The Hop, a house in Krang Popleak, a basketball court, some remodeled classrooms, a kitchen for Nasi, and a lot of bicycles. I wanted to live for a time in a world full of hope, and my home at Sustainable Cambodia was completely that. I didnt do this alone. I learned how to interpret Cambodian buildings, and the Cambodian people brought patience, skill and hard work to the projects. Cambodian people guided me through the process, forgiving my ignorance and hubris and helping me to move forward when I was tired or afraid. And you entrusted me with a lot of money - well more than the ten-thousand dollars I said I wanted. I have some healing and reconnecting to do in the next couple of months, so his page will be quiet. That will give you some time to congratulate yourself. You live on a little better planet today than you did a year ago. And so do I.
