I guess that I havent done a very good job keeping everyone updated. Jim Hand is healing nicely. He got out of the hospital at 4:00 on Christmas Eve just in time for a family dinner. He probably did too much yesterday but today he is going to rest. Let me explain better than I did earlier. He was bitten by a dog about 2 1/2 weeks ago through his jeans. He was breaking up a fight between two dogs. There was only a small puncture but the force of the bite did damage also. He went to the doctor the day after it happened. With all of his health issues, the doctors wanted it treated aggressively. After doing all the treatment, on the return check, he was sent immediately to a wound care specialist who immediately put him in the hospital and scheduled surgery. They were not sure what they would find. They found a blood clot that was about the size of a golf ball surrounded by some infection from the bite and since he takes immune suppressants, they removed all of that. So now, we will be doing open wound care. That will get a non-nurse, non-EMT type person. 😜The wet dressing will be changed everyday with frequent appointments to the wound care clinic. He is getting around, feeling pretty well. He is a little tired. In a blink of an eye-so much changes. However, we will be stronger headed into the new year. Happy New Year to you all.
