A VERY BRIEF BACKGROUND: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is also known as ALS or Lou Gehrigs disease, is a disease that negatively affects the nerve cells (primarily in the brain and spinal cord), resulting in impaired voluntary muscle movement. Find out more here: alsa.org/about-als/what-is-als.html WHAT I JUST DID: To raise awareness about ALS, the #icebucketchallenge was circulated. Im sure many of you have seen people dumping ice water on their heads across social media, and so my thoughtful friends Rajan, Reeba, and Proma nominated me to do the same. Doing it was fun (-_-) but the ALS cause needs funds, so Ive also donated to the association. In turn, I nominate Rieham, Bhavna, Brad, and Sanjeet to proceed with this challenge. You have 24 hours, so until 10:30pm on Monday, 8/18, to complete the ice bucket challenge or else you should donate $100 to the cause.
