I had Centurylink upgrade my speed today because my internet - TopicsExpress

I had Centurylink upgrade my speed today because my internet connection has seemed very slow as of late and Cox didnt want to bother with running a new cable to the other side of the house. I had to get a new modem, but oh well, just another $100. So, with homework due this evening, my old modem is already not working. I go to install the new modem and wind up with a red/green flashing internet light. I call tech support and they cant resolve it, just blaming the problem on exterior wiring from the technician. I should have expected all of this to go terribly wrong. So, since Lauras phone is still on unlimited, I installed a tether program for $8 (FoxFi) and am running my computer off of it. The good news is that Verizon 4gLTE is actually faster than my old connection (getting over 20Mbps download instead of LESS than 20). The bad news is that I had to waste a whole lot of time trying to get up and running on the internet that I am already paying for to no avail. I dont know why I thought it would be fine to rely on someone actually doing their job right the first time. I cant wait for Google. #centurylink #frustration #googlefiber
