Apparently the pro-Stalinist whippersnapper thought that my intolerance of DUIs was something I shared in common with his hero--Stalin--was me being a pro-police state old guy. Im still not kidding. He then told me DUI accidents were not down because of police efforts to arrest people for drunk driving in the United States, which is wrong. Finally, he gave the opinion that I needed to look things up on google scholar, which he assumed I had never heard of, despite knowing my PhD status. The reason, I needed google scholar was, of course, to find the evidence I had asked him for to prove his point. Good times. Quick tip, if ageism is a concern for you, then most likely you arent a Marxist--Stalinist or otherwise. Most likely you are a post-modern teenage first world lifestyle anarchist.
