I had a dog for 8 years when I lived here full time and not once did I find a tick on him or me. I always lived in apartment complexes except for about two years of that where I lived in houses. This summer, in my own yard, I have found three ticks - one on a dog I fostered for a few days and at the same time, one on my bathroom floor after I showered. Today I trimmed a mesquite tree in my back yard, which is really clean and weed free now, and found another very small one crawling on the bathroom floor after my shower. Do ticks live in trees? Can stray cats be the cause of these ticks in my yard? And most importantly, how do I get rid of the ticks (all the strays have gone except one very persistent one) because cleaning the yard didnt seem to work? Zoinks!
