I had a dream. In this dream, Ebola had officially landed in our country. Health officials were busy contradicting themselves, with some claiming that the contamination was contained, while reports of new cases emerged by the minute. The previously laid down structures to contain the spread crumbled like a pack of cards. All the precautions that were installed warent working because of lack of better planning. In this dream, panic has reached an all time high, with people buying essential things in bulk to stockpile for the future. Nobody trusts the other. The rich have barricaded themselves in their exclusive clubs, with strict instructions to the armed security personnel to ensure no breach. The not so rich are killing themselves in a selfish attempt to isolate their tribesmen from others in order to guarantee future existence. Meanwhile, Religious leaders are claiming to have a cure for Ebola and are hitting headlines with stage managed healing. that involve transfer of funds using mobile money transfer services. Claims of the cure lead to an exodus to the towns where the Religious leaders are, leading to more contamination of the virus. In the dream, The countrys leadership lacks authority and seem a aloof on what is actually happening on the ground. This is only a dream but i wont be surprised if it turns out to be the reality soon.
