I had a great day yesterday! It was an honor to preach the Gospel - TopicsExpress

I had a great day yesterday! It was an honor to preach the Gospel at Macadonia Fellowship Ministries! Communion was the occasion, so I addressed some Spiritual Myths that keep some people from participating in it! I have found that, upon observation, even though this observance is voluntary, far too many of us refuse to take it! I assume that the 21st century Christian is not ignorant of the Word, because it is so readily available, so I must conclude that maybe there has been a misunderstanding of this scripture! After all, it’s Christ that spoke these words “…..in remembrance of me’. There is no implication that he mistakenly imply “In remembrance of you! However, this understanding seems to be prevalent because many ON THIS DAY find themselves unworthy not because of any sin that they refuse to have exposed, but because of this concentration on themselves! The biggest myth I concentrated on was God never gives you more than you can bear. This is a myth because its not scriptural, is experience based, and has a purpose by God! According to the Word, especially 1st Cor. 1:1-11, Paul, the Great Apostle, experienced though he was, experienced something that was physically and emotionally more than he could handle! This is an unfortunate twist on a scripture that is in the Bible and that’s 1st Corinthians 10:13 “13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. We have to be careful what we pay attention to because words have a way of assisting us in formulating our own doctrine, which IS highly spoke against in the Bible!
