I had a great time aboard the Freelance from Daveys Locker out of Newport Beach. That boat is super stable, clean and the food was great. Yes there was a lot of people but everyone worked well together and were able to catch some YT, Calicos & Bonita. I made a bunch of brand new friends and hopefully we will be killing fish together again soon. Fish has gone down substantially so no big trophy fish for us. With all the negative comments that many have made about this vessel I was expecting a bad experience. The weather was perfect and the staff was nice. I came home with a lil YT and 2 bonefish that I will donate to Hollywoods lobster hooping trip. Otherwise I would have just thrown them back. I caught a HUGE mack on squid. I shouted Cedros size mack!!! Everyone laughed as we all knew there was nothing in the water today that would chomp on that big boy. Laughed hard and fished hard. Good times today on the Freelance!
