I had a great time at the Tarrant County Candidate Fair. I got to - TopicsExpress

I had a great time at the Tarrant County Candidate Fair. I got to have extended grilling sessions with prospective representatives. Finally got my chance to tell David Dewhurst that in no way does he have a conservative record, does not speak for me and that I simply cannot believe a word that comes out of his mouth. His underhanded lying campaign about Ted Cruz was despicable. Anyone who campaigns in such a way will never have my support. Also, had a great conversation with Eric Opliela (for Ag commissioner) about cutting the swelling bureaucracy in school lunch programs, even if that means he does not get re-elected. I will support him and hold him to that promise. I also like his stance on water rights and believe he has the experience to pull off the strengthening of property rights in that area. Steve Gebhard gets my endorsement for 432nd District Court, but did not win the Straw Poll as most of my endorsements did. Konni Burton, (SD10) and Alexander Alex Kim (ccc#3) also get my endorsement as well for their outstanding constitutional grasp. I am leaning for the following candidates, and might change my mind depending on circumstances. Dan Patrick for Lt. Governor. I spoke with him briefly and encouraged him to push hard for open carry, as it will greatly enhance the safety of average citizens. I like a couple other of his opponents and am worried that having 3 strong candidates going against dewhurt could be a bad move. Ken Paxton Whom I did not get to speak to in person is well-liked by many of those I am endorsing, and I am told he is a strong constitutionalist. No endorsement for Republican Governor, I was not swayed by any conversations I had with any of them. I like Glenn Hegar and Debra Medina for comptroller, and would need to see a debate between the two in order to make up my mind on the race. No endorsement for Railroad Commissioner at the moment because I did not get the feeling I could trust any of the candidates I talked to, to not favor their buddies in the industry, or that they had the know-how to get the job done right. (I am open to being persuaded) I am leaning towards Sharen Wilson for DA, and could be swayed (Didnt get to speak with her in depth) Atticus Gill (ccc#2)is on the cusp of getting a full endorsement, but I have yet to ask him some of the tougher questions about the limitations of police powers. David Cook (ccc#1) is well-liked by those whos opinions I generally align with, but I did not get to speak with him.
