I had a great time yesterday with Johnny Rodriguez providing and running the soundstage, as well as performing, for the Team Wade ALS Fundraiser event put on by Wade and Lisa Kirchner at The Villa! Carol Ann Keiser did a great job organizing all us musicians (like herding cats Im sure)! It was hot and muggy and hard work... yes. But boy was it worth it! Had the honor to meet and do sound for some great musical artists. A big shout out and heartfelt thankyou to Edward Hudson on standup steel and electric guitar, and Rob Hilton on drums for backing me and JRod and making it the new West Coast Flyers band! Sorry about the power supply glitch at the end, but it was a hella great set nonetheless! I really enjoyed twisting knobs for the OCD Band, Joseph Moye , who also provided a sweet conditioned power supply and copious mike stands as well as performing a groovy eclectic set, Kenny Trujillo and Kevin Putman, who pulled off a great bassless set as Duo-Mundo (with me and Joe throwing down backing vocals on a couple of Beatles tunes), Paul Burgess and Eli Gold and Monica Crooks (the dentist with the golden voice) of Flight 19 (with Rob on drums and Ed on guitar), who impressed us all with their soul, and Carol, who owned the stage with Villa Real (sadly minus the irrepressible Janet Frye - dang!) Thanks for the experience everyone - you all done real good!
